2015 QLD Seafood Industry Awards

Love Australian Prawns (LAP) – a National promotional campaign was a winner in the gala Queensland Seafood Industry Awards evening, June 13, 2015. LAP is a national prawn industry led, co-operative initiated and voluntarily funded by members of the Australian Prawn Farmers Association (APFA) and the Australian Council of Prawn Fisheries (ACPF) that promotes Australian prawns.

We congratulate Seafarms Group for wining the Primary Producer Award and an employee of the Seafarms Group – James Tyrer for receiving the Young Achiever Award.

Seafarm Queensland Pty Ltd has been recognised for its dedication to research and development, the environment and the growth of the farmed prawn industry, taking out the Primary Producer Award at the Queensland Seafood Industry Awards. Owned by the Seafarms Group, Seafarm, at Cardwell in North Queensland, has doubled production volumes in the last 12 months

James Tyrer, or ‘Jimmy’ as he’s known around Coral Sea Farms near Ingham, in north Queensland, has netted the Young Achiever Award at the prestigious Queensland Seafood Industry Awards. Since being promoted to farm manager by his employers, Seafarms Group, James’s hard work, dedication and inclusive management style have produced outstanding results, including a whopping 28% betterment of previous records for the farm he manages.
