Australian Prawn Farmers Association 2019 Annual Symposium
CALL FOR PRESENTER EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
The Australian Prawn Farmers Association is the leading industry organisation for prawn and shrimp farming in Australia, an industry with a value of circa $80 million. The industry focuses on providing high quality and high value product to the Australian retail sector and is supported by world leading researchers. The annual Symposium is the pre-eminent forum for Australian prawn farmers to gain new knowledge, network and meet with service providers, vendors and scientists.
The 2019 symposium is being held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, South Bank, Brisbane on Monday 29th July – Wednesday 31st July 2019 (with presentations being held 30th and 31st of July).
This is an opportunity to present at one of Australia’s most awarded convention centres.
The 2019 theme is Growing Together – What part will you play? This theme will explore challenges, approaches, strategies and vision for Australian prawn farming and aquaculture. Presenters are sought from all industry connections including, but not limited to, aquaculture farming, marketing, feed production, research, retail, government agencies, consultants, logistics and suppliers.
Applications are now open for potential presenters.

To apply, please submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the APFA Symposium Committee of your research/presentation relevant to both the prawn farming industry and the theme Growing Together – What part will you play? as follows:
- All EOIs must be in English, in Microsoft Word format and limited to between 50-200 words.
- The EOI should describe what you would like to talk about in your presentation and how it contributes to the Australian prawn farming industry and Growing Together – What part will you play?
- Please include: Presentation Name; all author(s) identifying information, including names, degrees, and institutional affiliations (presenting author to be bolded); BIOs, head shot photo (if possible as successful presenters will be featured on the Symposium App) and narrative text.
- All submissions should be emailed to email@example.com
Successful applicants will be asked to either present a 15-20 minute presentation or hold a 45-90-minute workshop.
Successful applicants will be featured on the APFA Symposium App during the symposium.
A condition of being able to present is that all presenters must register for the symposium and pay for their own accommodation and travel expenses. Presenters will be withdrawn from the program if registration and payment have not been received by 10 June 2019. Eventbrite tickets will be available soon.

All Presentations are to be free of commercial interest – Any paper that is selling or promoting a particular product or commercial service will not be accepted. Commercial interest opportunities are available through sponsorship or exhibition packages. Details coming soon at www.apfa.com.au
