Members Area (Fees, Rules of Association and more)

Membership of the Association is voluntary.

An Ordinary Member is the holder of current prawn farming permit.

Ordinary Member Fees are collected each calendar year:

$350 / ha to maximum of $25,000 + GST total amount payable ON or BEFORE 31st March 2019 (early bird discount); or

$380 / ha to maximum of $30,000 + GST if paid AFTER 31st March 2019.

An Associate Member is an organisation supporting the prawn farming industry but not actively farming prawns.

Associate Membership Fee is $1125 + GST total amount payable ON or BEFORE 31st March 2019 (early bird discount); or

Associate Membership Fee is $1245 + GST if paid AFTER 31st March 2019

The Association has the very strong support of the industry at all levels with very close to 100 per cent coverage of growers across Australia. These facts, combined with the economic potential of the industry ensure that APFA has a strong voice at all levels of government.

An Executive Board monitor the annual activities of the Association and meet face to face at least 4 times per year. The current President is Matt West – General Manager of Australian Prawn Farm, Mackay.

APFA has developed a single consolidated summary of all available research relevant to Australian prawn farming, by auditing all key research and reports (both academic and non-academic) published since 2000. To date some 300 research papers/reports have been found.
